Limiting Reservation to 2 or 3 generations

We students always crib about how reservations eat up what is due for us
.Recently the state government of Maharashtra implemented reservation for
girls too in technical fields. Now this really is pushing it too far. When
we were discussing this in class we thought about whether we could restrict
reservation to 2 or say 3 generations. Doing this will ensure that the
generations which avail of this oppurtinity make good use of it and are not
complacent.I really don't think this is impossible,infact it is quite
sensible . Just because someone's ancestors was  treated harshly that
doesn't mean all his coming generations can get away with not studying and
easily getting jobs whereas the rest of the so called upper class people
struggle.I wonder sometimes if I belong to the deprived class. Also it seems
that in central government offices the employees of the backward caste are
given preferance in promotion too irrespective of their seniority. My mother
has worked for the central government and I beleive sincerely too for the
past 20 yrs . But now she sees people who r much junior to her climb up the
ranks whereas for her promotions seem to be few and far between. I can
understand reservations for jobs but doing this even for promotions is
ridiculous.
