By "uniform syllabus" only meant, the syllabus should be same
till a certain level of education. Now in India it is
"10th standard", already others have mentioned in this forum
that this could be changed to "7th standard" and then optional
education oriented towards a vocation/carrier should be
available.

I fully agree with Mr.Prakash's veiw that Govt. need not run
the schools, the education budget should be divided and given
to Villages and Wards in Municipalities/City corporations and
they should be allowed to run the schools.

Govt. need not have any role in higher education, not even
prescribing a syllabus. Higher education should be left to
the corporate sector, let them decide whom they want to select
and train further for employment. Let us leave the higher
education fully to market forces, this will allow
the market forces to select the really brilliant dedicated
people who will make the right work force for the corporate
sector.

There will be absolutely no wastage of "brain power" since
when the corporate spend money for training brains they
will know how to keep them also!
