Power Sector

Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!

Appears that the Power Sector typifies the malaise that afflicts the rest of
the Economy. The motto of government seems to be " WE will not do and we
will not let anyone else do it either". Otherwise why is it that with power
shortages commonplace we drive away companies like Enron who could make the
required investment and create jobs as well. Same kind of controlling
mindset afflicts the areas of broadcasting, aviation, tourism and lot of
other industries. What the government should be doing is to encourage
investment and monitor and regulate the industry only to the extent that the
environment, working conditions and consumer  is protected. Why is it that
in Delhi the only producer and distributor of power is the Delhi Vidyut
Board
which, any citizen of Delhi can tell you is second only to the Delhi
Development Authority for being corrupt.
