A Free Market for Grains

The FCI will pick up crores of rupees worth of substandard grain in Punjab to
help growers who will otherwise face financial ruin. Is it not better that
govt. got out of the business of procuring foodgrain and allow a freemarket
to develop with grain futures to stabilize prices so that the farmers,
traders, consumers and taxpayers' long term interests are protected.

Can anyone with better knowledge on the issue enlighten the rest of us.
