Re: Language of Education
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Our netas are doing a classic divide and rule policy. By insisting on
regional language in primary education, they are trying to bring in yet
another fissure in an already fractured Indian society.
IPI members please Consider these
1) Regional Language is very important, I don't deny that one bit. It
is part of our culture and it would be a shame if one our languages
dies due to adverse influence(???) of English.
2) At the same time English is a "World Language". If we separate
emotions from this language issue and view any language as a tool,
then what is wrong in having as many tools as possible to succeed in
this world?. There is no point in being militant about language as
some of our netas or that scooter wallah in Mysore. Too Bad they
have such a narrow mind.
3) India wouldn't have been as successful in Information Technology but
for the fact that we have a large english speaking population.
So, Long story short, we should continue and implement the three language
policy, ie., Regional language, Hindi with English as the language of
instruction.Simply because most of latest scientific knowledge is written in
English and we should not let our people be left behind to due language
constraints.
