Judicial process in India

Last couple of weeks some of the questions were crossing my mind about the
criminal justice procedure in India, and they are largly unanswered, that's
the reason I am putting them on this forum, so here it goes:

1) How the post like District Attorney, Attorney General are filled.
2) Are these postion's executive or falls under judiciary.


We read most of the time cases against criminals are dismissed because of
the lack of evidence, as usual we blame investigating agencies for this, but
at the same time we do not even talk about incompetance of public
prosecutor, as he is equally responsible for this.

What must've been in the mind of founding father's of the Indian Constitution
so as to not to have DA elected?

I'd appreciate some knowledgeble comments on this.
