Re: Two questions to IPI members
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!

IMHO These questions are tricky and though being
pretty straight forward, need some insight into
oneself to answer them honestly, along with the fact
that one must know what other
amenities/facilities/perks are provided with the
salary
here is my opinion, though I cannot quote numbers at
this point since that will be a very relative figure
varying from person to person...
'cos as I understand, the economies of the market as
in the US are such that the salaries are provided such
that it compensates for the inflation and goes with
the amount of labor - mental and physical - that one
needs to put in and also in today's times, goes with
the need for security and the risks accompanying that
kind of a job... not that in an honest and trustworthy
society all evil is dead.... - that itself was a
horror movie -
so I would not be able to put in a figure to it till I
am not very clear if I should just go by pure numbers
without taking all the factors into consideration -
without being able to define them but what I
understand is that these plans should be very much
similar to those provided by companies - and I am
saying so because those are the only benchmarks one
has to go against
So obivously one would tend to drift towards the idea
that one should get paid like the high flying business
executives of US who usually have stock options, but
given the fact that these people who would be on these
positions are educated with professional
qualifications at least, they can take up additional
responsibilities to be able to earn from there too.
Like they could also have additional responsibilities
towards the industry they represent and so they would
earn from there too (not that that should be ruled
out) by being a member of the board of a company.
At some point if the system allows such leeways for
them... in tht cASe the salaries could be variable,
but the basic package would still be something that
would make one feel comfortable when compared to the
management cadre employees... again that being the
(only?) standard of comparison in this
industrial/information age today
and since we all have a very heavy shift in mindset
towards the US in terms of the economic strength it
possesses, we must include into this consideration the
ideas of the CEOs of the big companies like
Infosys/Wipro as to what they think would make most
sense in these circumstances for politicians to earn
if they are from the educated intellectual and honest
section(class?) of the society
because these people also would probably have more
than ust ideas to make systems work the way they think
would make the economy grow and improve the quality of
lifestyle and thus bring in more awareness in the
common man.
