It is very true that the salaries paid to our representatives are
ridiculously low. A chief minister gets 1/5th the amount paid to his chief
secretary!

I think that the salaries of our representatives should be at the least at
par with those paid to the IAS.

The only reason that I did not join electoral politics back in 1985 (when I
had the chance) was because I would either become bankrupt or go the way of
our (then) young student leaders, given the salary I would earn if I became
an MLA or MP.
