Two questions to IPI mebers

Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!

In a large, representative democracy, public representation is the primary
public good. It is also the only public good that is directly provided by
the people. Other public goods are provided indirectly by these
representatives, and hence are secondary.

imal provision.

India has a very poor system to generate the primary public good, i.e., to
generate good public representatives. The outcome of national corruption
and confounded provision of infrastructure and public goods is a foregone
conclusion in such a case.

As far as incentives of the citizenry to provide public representatives are
concerned, there are two questions, which if truthfully answered, will show
the true state of affairs of incentives regarding the generation of good
public representation today.

(1) What salary does a society need to pay its representatives to get good
representation?
(2) What salary will motivate you to become a public representative? (this
question is to be asked from the group of citizens most likely to be
competent and honest).

I would like the members of IPI (assumed to be the group of citizens most
likely to be competent and honest) to answer these two questions very
truthfully.

Awaiting your replies. Sanjeev
