on
Markets, Morality, and Prosperity

In light of Sauvik Chakraverti’s book
Antidote: Essays against the Socialist Indian State
Macmillan India, 2000, pp. 184, Rs. 268

Rs4000

The length of the essay should be 3000 words for college students and
the general category, and 2000 words for school students. The essay
should critically address the arguments made in Antidote without being

a book review.

The judges’ decision is final and the Centre reserves the right not to

award the prizes if there are no suitable entries. The Centre will
retain the copyright to all the essays submitted.

The winning entries will be announced on August 1 and a grand prize
function will be organized on August 15 in New Delhi.

Last date for submission is June 30, 2000

The Centre for Civil Society’s employees, advisors, trustees,
scholars, judges and their families are not eligible to enter.
