    No, I think he would have wanted it run like a monopolistic/imperialist
power much like it is right now!

    What you fail to understand is a business with adequate checks on its
power can do wonders for the people of India.  And so too, the Government as a
service provider (roads, water, judicial system, law enforcement, and other
services) can also do wonders if its power is checked as a business' under the
capitalist/free-market system.

    A Government is an institution just like a business and it will abuse its
power if its power is not dilluted.  In the capitalist/free-market model, the
power of a business is checked by its competition!
