The greed continues....

Putting the chunk together lest it will be an effort to look for the
reply if I embed it.

Coming back to our chronic disease, greed. The British oppression and
our
policies might have been a reason for the struggle for existence and
resulting greed. But what about the greed of the X-gen ? How can one
explain
the cribbing and whining of a software engineer (drawing fat salaries
disproportionate to his/her effort ), when an ordinary lecturer in a
college
brings home a fraction of what the so called S/W professional earns? Why

should he still groan and moan for being paid less ? Why should the rich
and
the upper-middle class continue to use the PDS system ? On top of that,
we
yearn for mai-baap sarkar ? What for ?
May be human psychology can explan the above. I have not delved into
that. For me, the above, which is only a speck, represent in an inherent

rot. It's a legacy we are inheriting.
We don't have our own versions of rockfellers and stanfords ??
Surprising
?? The tatas, birlas, goenkas, ambanis, wadias, singhanias, kedias,
khaitans....premzis.. Oh !! the list can go on.
That they propered in adverse conditions is a different matter. May the
environment in which they bloomed makes them shy of contributing in a
better
way.
Checks and balances are successful in US because there is a rule of
law
and atleast a small section of people are vigilant and have a voice. The

same low key affair will not be enough in India, when people are
ignorant
and indifferent ( collectively, collectively because everyone sulks for
himself ). The reason we are caught in a vicious circle. To improve our
lot,
there is a need to educate and empower the people and standing in way of

that are precisely the conditions in which we are languishing. That's
why
all this hue and cry...

sincerely,
Prasad Boddupalli.
