Re: Our greed knows no bounds.....
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Shall I say it? You are right. But who or what are you talking about? Are
the people at fault here or is it the institution of Government?
Recently, the Government of India (GoI) has "outlawed" Internet
Telephony. Why? So that its monopoly, VSNL, can reap the profits!! What is
wrong with making profits? Nothing, but you have to compete for the
hard-earned money of your poeple. One cannot be a coward and hide behind the
veil of a monopoly.
So when you claim that "our greed knows no bounds...." why don't you hold
the Government responsible under the same declaration? In the case of GoI
there are no checks and balances and its greed cannot be checked!! Under the
free-market/capitalist prescription you have every joe blo competing for the
consumer's wealth - competition is a check against the "greed" of the
producer.
Furthermore, what good is a ban against Internet Telephony when it
discourages research and development in that field while other countries are
racing ahead? So much for wealth creation and job creation in a country whose
sanctimony has been "equal" distribution of wealth. How about equal
opportunity to create wealth?
Sincerely,
Vamsi M.
