Sorry!! Excuseth me please!!

I have just received a poke in my stomach from Puneet who chastised me for
sounding very harsh with our new friend from Calcutta.

Excuse me, if I sounded harsh in any way. I am given to these dementias
during which I do not see clearly!! When I am in my rare lucid intervals,
I am quite friendly and harmless, really!

Puneet said that the new friend had an excellent point, when he asked me
"how did we arrive at our conclusions?" And we must reply to that point
clearly, if we are to proceed further.

Well, this is a good point, and I will attempt to answer this. First, most
points arose by simply being put up by some member of the list or the
other. How did they think of those points is beyond me to speculate. They
were gifted, perhaps? A hotline to Heaven? 

Well, the moment the fresh points were poured into the soup, all the
others had a choice: to let those points go, or to battle them out. I
actually reserve the right to battle with many of the points that are
still hanging around without scrutiny. Since the points are open to battle
in perpetuity, this does not put stress on anyone's time. In other words,
we can open up a point, even if it was otherwise 'closed' after debate,
any time when we please and we can spare some time.

Please do some work and you might find some arguments and data on both
sides of various points.

In the meanwhile the Most Honorable, Kind and Virtuous, Wise and Hard
Working, Mr.Karthik has very graciously, generously, and in the greatest
public interest, consented to start the process of summarizing these
debates on various issues. I will put up his work on Education later in
the day. 

In fact, as you browse the search page on a particular issue, you might be
able to help by simply saving all those e-mail into a single document and
sending it to me. That will be of great help to everyone in understanding
whether the debates were really won or whether I cheated in declaring the
winner (since I do the entire thing: debating, umpiring, recording the
'consensus,' etc. We do need separation of powers, I say!) .
