New Section for Web Page: "Thought for the Day"
Dear friends,
I was personally very pleased and impressed to receive the thought from
Ajay a while ago. It struck me that we may have much more to share with
each other than mere learning, experience and opinion.
We can even share the gems of wisdom of other folks both living and dead.
A gem like the thought we received from Ajay is a treasure to be cherished
forever. Let us start collecting these treasures which can inspire the
readers of the manifesto we are writing, into action, at which ever level
they would like to get involved.
I am therefore going to open a web page on IndiaPolicy called "Occasional
Thought for the Day" in which you are invited to contribute thoughts which
are appropriate to this forum (i.e., no religious inspirational thoughts,
for example). Some of these thoughts could itself arouse debate, and that
would be fine. If these "thoughts of the day" fail the test of debate
then they will be booted out (without any disrespect, of course).
To propose two of my favorite thoughts, let me share a thought by
Jefferson and a poem which I believe almost everyone knows. I was
particularly impressed with when I was young (and I am still very very
young - at heart!). Please debate with this if you think this is
essentially false.

THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN
by Waler D. Wintle
IF YOU THINK YOU ARE BEATEN, YOU ARE
IF YOU THINK YOU DARE NOT, YOU DON'T
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO WIN BUT YOU THINK YOU CAN'T
IT'S ALMOST A CINCH YOU WON'T
IF YOU THINK YOU'LL LOSE, YOU'VE LOST
FOR OUT IN THE WORLD WE FIND,
SUCCESS BEGINS WITH A FELLOW'S WILL,
IT'S ALL IN THE STATE OF MIND
IF YOU THINK YOU'RE OUTCLASSED, YOU ARE
YOU'VE GOT TO THINK HIGH TO RISE
YOU'VE GOT TO BE SURE OF YOURSELF
BEFORE YOU CAN EVER WIN A PRIZE.
LIFE'S BATTLES DON'T ALWAYS GO
TO THE STRONGER OR THE FASTER MAN,
BUT SOONER OR LATER, THE MAN WHO WINS
IS THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN.
